Description: 

Medium-sized fungus that has a silky cap, white gillas and a stem with a ring, found either solitary or scattered in grassland, often in gardens and road or pathsides.

Distribution: 

Infrequent from late Summer till Autumn.

Habitat: 

On soil in grassland.

Cap: 

Initially convex, flattening, smooth and silky, white with a buff tinge at maturity,

Flesh: 

Cap flesh is thick, fairly soft and white, stem flesh is soft, hollow, white and stuffed.

Gills: 

Free, crowded, white tinged pallid buff with age.

Stem: 

Smooth, whitish,  base slightly bulbous, ring is white, narrow and superior,

Additional Notes: 

Inedible.
