Strengths:
Comprehensive, excellantly illustrated, wide range of species
Weaknesses:
Perhaps a bit daunting for the beginner
Having cut my teeth on insects, spiders were the next obvious group of terrestrial arthropods for me to attempt to identify.
This book is an invaluable guide to the species likely to be encountered in these islands.
The colour plates are excellent as are the descriptions of the individual species. I also particularly liked the descriptions of the webs, egg-sacs and glossary.
A very worthwhile addition to any wild-life library.
