Strengths:
Range of topics, best gcn guide, factual, offers advice to a wide range of parties
Weaknesses:
some of the sections are quite vague, could do with more habitat enhancement info
Overall this is a must for anyone interested in great crested newts or interested in working with great crested newts. This subject is not widely covered and this text offers a great introduction to managing habitats, newts and the law, biology, identification, advice for surveyors, and many more valuable facts such as how to plant a gcn pond and what species to use.
The only negative point I find is parts can be quite vague and more detail would be useful in some areas.
