Strengths:
low price, large focal range, decent macro abilities
Weaknesses:
not very good low light perfomance, abit soft at 300mm above F/6.3
i have had this camera for about 3 months now, and i am very impressed.
i was looking for a camera that would let me take decent photos, without spending more then £250. the advantages it has over an entry level DSLR (about the same price) are the fact that for that price, a DSLR would come with a kit lens with a relatively small range, and not that good macro abilities.
this camera lets me experiment with creative wide angle photography, up to high telephoto at the 300mm area. it is still fairly compact - i take it out everywhere with me - considering the focal range and image quality it can produce.
the only areas it falls down are low light photography (the results above ISO 800 are poor, and there is no IS) and if you heavily crop images at any area of the focal range, there is sometime loss of detail.
but despite it's faults, i don't think you could get better quality images for this price, and i would recommend it to anyone who is either looking for good quality images at a reasonable price, or a second camera for when they don't want to take all their DSLR kit out.
