Strengths:
Lightweight, well made, super functional
Weaknesses:
`Leg adjusters not to everyones taste
I love the Giottos carbon range and already highy rate the monopod.
This tripod really is super. It is multifunctional and gives me exactly what I need from a good support device. I have coupled it with the 701-RC2 head from Manfrotto and the performance is lovely.
I used to have a real aversion to tripods - given that I own only IS lenses in the main, but I felt for macro work the tripod would be of great help. Now I intend to use it with all lenses.
It is very sturdy, simple to adjust, has many functions yet still remains quite light. It has many additional features, such as an excellent tool kit, so that you mnay make minor adjustments, to suit, and a good quality strap.
You can buy a great many different shoes and I prefer different ones on each leg so that I can favour a 'leading' leg, dependant on conditions.
The twist leg adjustments may not be to everyones liking, so it is essential you understand the concept - they are not the quickest but ergonomically far superior to others.
I am chuffed to bits with my latest bit of Giottos kit
