A crew-neck fleece in a relaxed fit suits any casual occasion and this garment, in 280gsm soft touch polyester, offers excellent warmth for its weight, too. The fabric is quick drying, resists pilling and is machine washable. It has flatlocked seams for comfort and an adjustable drawcord at the hem to keep it snug around your waist.

Strengths:
Warm, very fast drying , cheap
Weaknesses:
not wind proof
I have several of these and have found them to be nice and comfy and great to wear under a field jacket for a hard days nature watching / photography.
They lack many of the hi tech features of more expensive feeces but I have found that they wick sweat away tollerably well and that they dry very fast and are warm when wet.
their one failing is that they are not windproof but worn as a mid layer this does not matter
and at under ten squid each you can afford to wear more than one if the conditions require it.
If you want a cheap mid layer then these are worth a look
