Strengths:
Excellent introduction, humorous, well illustrated
Weaknesses:
Perhaps lacking in depth for the most serious students
An excellent introduction to freshwater ecology.
Although aimed at the younger reader this book covers everything you would possibly need to know about ponds and pondlife. Even as an experienced (well, old) pond-dipper I learnt something from this book and would recommend it highly to anyone who wants to get their net wet.
