Strengths:
Great Book for beginners
Weaknesses:
can be a bit overwhelming & could have doen with more on Patchwork
I love Bill Oddies books & always find something of interest. It is bare bones birding & one I would buy a child for Xmas along with a notebook pencil & Binoculars or as a retirement present for someone.
Books like this are few & far between & I could have done with something similar 30 years ago when I started.
Even seasoned birders should by it it may teach them to slow down & work a local patch rather than "Twitching" all over the show.
