By far the best photograhic guide out. I use two one for the field & one for home The photograhs ar eaccurate but there are many mistakes, DSome very common fungiare not shown at all but it does not detract from the book as I have many others. It does few Myxomycetes & Disco's but I would not be without it. It would be my desrt Island choice.

The 2006 edition contains 200 photos of species that were not included in the first volume. Many changes in the Latin names (with the older, better known names as synonyms) and inclusion of the English names for all the major fungi in the British Isles. Some European species that travelers abroad might encounter though not yet recorded here.

I agree with Cybershot. The 2006 update is much better. It is my "Bible", and although it's only 10 months old, it's well thumbed already If you're serious about fungi, save the pennies and buy a copy

I bought the 2006 paperback edition titled "Mushrooms". (see Cybershots review)
Excellent clear text and photographs, and although I would have preferred to see fungi shots in the field, that is just my preference and takes nothing away from the book, which is a must for anyone interested in fungi.
