Strengths:
Value for Money, Handling- Natural feel and Balance, Nikkor Lens Quality, Rugged build.
Weaknesses:
Needs MB200 Battery pack for prolonged use.
I have been using the D200 for about twelve months now, having upgraded from a Nikon D70. As with all Nikon products, you get a quality build, It feels right in the hands especially with tyhe MB200 Battery pack attached. It is solid and has good balance when hand held for "difficult" shots. I use the following Nikkor lenses - 18-200VR, 70-300VR and 80-400VR plus a 105mm Micro Nikkor for my Nature photography. I have in reserve a Kenko Pro plus 1.4 convertor and a set of three Kenko extension tubes. Kenko have the necessary contacts to maintain AF and Exposure on all these lenses. I use a Manfrotto 679 Monopod with Manfrotto 488RC0 ball head, or a Manfrotto 055V tripod with Manfrotto701RC2 head. I confess to having been a Nikon user since the old F Photomic days and having dropped them down cliffs or fallen out of trees with them in my younger days have never had them let me down.
