Description:
This guide offers a wealth of information on observing and identifying 150 of the most commonly encountered species of shore life in Britain and Europe. Both plants and animals are covered, including seaweeds, molluscs, crustaceans and insects. Each species is described with detailed notes and illustrated with a superb colour painting. There is fascinating information on the different types of coast and important advice on the safety measures to be taken by the sea.

Strengths:
A book for less than 3 quid!
Weaknesses:
Not very detailed
You can’t not buy this great little book considering the price! Ok it’s nowhere near as comprehensive as the Collins guide (my fav) but it does cover the most common sea shore life you are likely to encounter at your local beach, so for that reason I highly recommend this book. Also because it doesn’t swamp the reader with complex biology it would make a great book for young children. Enjoy.
