Raven

Description

The Raven is the U.K.s largest crow and is about the same siza as a Buzzard. They have thick necks with a beard of shaggy throat feathers, which are clearly evident when calling. They also have a powerful thick black bill. The birds legs are also black.On closer inspection the black feathers have a purplish sheen.

Diet

The Raven is a ground feeder and has an extremely varied diet from carrion, eggs, insects, fruit and berries to name but a few. Ravens, like other members of the crow family will store food when it is plentiful for leaner times.
