This is a small fungus that is found occasionally, though more commonly during wet periods, growing from the rotting remains of Russula nigricans.
Grows on the rotten remains of Russula nigricans.
The cap is subglobose and covered in a clay-buff mealy coating of chlamydospores.
Dark-brown to grey in colour.
Habitat: On moribund or decayed basidiomes of Russula spp., usually R. nigricans, rarely R. adusta. Notes: Occasional but widespread. Ref: BC
