Taken at Pagham Harbor NR, West Sussex. This was the first Red-breasted Merganser I'd ever seen, and this male let me get remarkably close. I saw no evidence of any leg tags, so I have to presume he was just used to people.
I did see the female he was with further off, but she never got within range of the lens. So I only came away with a record shot of her. Used Canon 50D/100-400L Lens, handheld. |
