Interesting find, how common is this 'alien'? I take it it isn't native... I'm hoping to see more spurge sp. next year...

No, it's a native of south-west Europe, and I don't think there's that much of it naturalised in the UK. It's well-established at Sand Point and it's apparently been there (behind the toilets in the National Trust car park) since 1953 - I've seen a few pictures of it from the Great Orme in North Wales, too, but otherwise it's at best rare and sporadic.
