Male adders emerge around mid-late febuary and the females follow a week or two later.

Stunning shot of a really beautiful creature. 
We have only had a few of these into the centre and each time we handle with EXTREME caution.
We also have them in the forest where I live and actually once (didn't have a camera then) saw 4 young adders sunbathing. They were quite small so maybe they had just been born?
I really don't know a lot about adders, other than they are extremely difficult to treat in captivity.

Can you remember what time of year you saw the four together? Adders often gather together at the hibernaculums.
