Great pic - it reminds me of when I were a lass. Our dad would take us up to Flamboro Head or Spurn Point. On one occasion, we collected some cinnabar caterpillars and raised them to moth stage in a box that dad made. It was my job to collect fresh groundsel every morning and evening for them. We released them onto the bank nearby and for years afterwards I came across cinnabar caterpillars feeding on the groundsel and ragwort up there! Wonder if they're still there ....

Sorry for the delay in replying, somehow I missed your post. nice story. My Cinnabar experience isn't so good. Last year we went to Patching Farm Art Festival and the Cinnabars had all just hatched, there where thousands of them a spectacular sight! I took loads of pictures, only for the memory card to fail and I lost the lot!

I hope that has taught you to always take a spare.

Wouldn't have helped in this situation. I had a spare with me, but didn't use it. The card failed back home. Typical.

Somehow these always seem to crawl in to my camera bag.
