Nice image bb. I like the lighting, it works well, showing off the structure of the shell.

The legs of this beetle seem unusually long for one that forages under bark. Is this its natural habitat?

Thanks nr. The bark was pretty rotten with large gaps between it and the heartwood. I think it may have been using it as a refuge rather than an active hunting ground.
