great shot... im hopeing to get one of these stunning hawks if the weather holds as there are a pair close to home at the moment, so all my fingers are crossed. i think overall they have had a good breeding yr. must also add i think the eye here is pin sharp...gez

Ta for all the positive comments.
I was very lucky with this shot. The bird landed less than 10 feet away from my kitchen window and was facing the right direction. Luckilly my camera was near as well.
I was trying to get an even better view from the french windows when the pesky starlings decided to harrass him and he flew off 
Thankfully he took his lunch (the poor sparrow) with him!

Excellent capture Billy but I don't think its a fella. Have a look at Wolfhill's latest thats a male.Yours has that lovely piercing yellow eye.
