This plant has no common name that I am aware of.



This specimen was growing in a Scottish Highland hill loch in August. A single stem emerges through up to a foot of water from a rosette of leaves which lies flat on the stony bed.

The usual common name is Water Lobelia - but it apparently it used to be called Water Gladiole in Cumberland.
