Excellent find, looks very creepy..reminds me of the alien films. Well done. Nice clear shot.

Its too bleached out to see any markings but it is certainly an exuvia of an Aeshnid - Hawker species.

The most likely species would be Brown Hawker Aeshna grandis.

Would I be right in thinking that brown hawkers have a slightly red/brown tint to the wings ?? There was one buzzing around nearby.



I have a slightly darker image as well that may be clearer, will post it up later.
