Spent all day at Middleton 14.07.06 trying to get some decent shots of Red-veined Darter. They are so hard to approach being very skittish, probably managed 3 quality shots!!! it doesn't help they always try and land on the weakest stem of grass, so seem to spend ages going round and round before finding a perch.

Hi Glsammy,

I've had real trouble as well My best shots seem to come at the end of the day when its cooling down and they aren't as flighty (but they're still hard work )

Cheers

Hi Newhythebirder,

like i said earlier they can turn up any where, i've been lucky enough to find them twice at previously undiscovered locations and they are now breeding in this country.

Good luck

Hi,

My problem was getting the camera to focus! I only managed two shots before it flew away, focus missed on both of them!
