A very nice capture of a rather scarce bird. Well done!

I had the good fortune to get a sight of one early last year in East Lothian. However it appears you got a bit nearer than I did.

Thanks John, my son is at Uni there and he told me that the bird had been seen in the flooded watermeadows by the river. In contrast to the wildness of your location this was essentially a large puddle by the river with lots of sunday afternoon strollers around and it let us get to about 40ft or so.
