Having failed earlier in the week to get a decent photo (cos I had forgotten part of the tripod ....) I returned yesterday in gorgeous sunlight to take this and woodland views in the last of the autumn splendour ........ I covered 200 yards in 4 hours and really enjoyed myself!!!!

Hahaha! Have you not got WFF down there then? What about Tunbridge FF? I've never looked at the distribution of them ....... but I suppose much water and wet atmosphere needed for these to flourish - no prob in the Lakes but I think its drier and windier on the I of W?!

According to this http://www.botanicalkeys.co.uk/flora...dvcccmulti.asp site, neither of these ferns [Tunbridge or Wilsons] grow here.....

Thats a shame ..... I believe that both grow at Padarn Country Park in North Wales but having walked quite a distance and seeing the path went off downhill very steep I 'wuzzed' out .... I haven't forgotten it tho!!!!!
