That has got to be a first for the gallery. Interesting that they mate on the ground and not in the trees. He seems to have got his feathers a bit ruffled. Thank you John for sharing this with us.

remarkable John, very well captured. The results you get with your digiscope are amazing.
I am also surprised to see Green Woodpeckers mating on the ground. It's not what I would have expected.
