Thanks for your comment Redrob - much appreciated.
The photo was taken using a special astro-camera (the DMK 21AU04) through an AstroSystems 8.5" newtonian telescope on an equatorial mount, driven in both RA and Dec. I then used special stacking software to bring out detail and reduce noise.

Excuse Me!!!!!! AWwww! of corse you did! I should of known that, or maybe not! I understood the noise part of your discription. The rest - well I'm a little behind in my chinese Bruce!
So lining up my old Brownie camera with my father-in-laws telescope will not get results like yours? What a shame!
Sorry! Joking aside, Your photos are excellent! I thought you must need some kind of specialized equipment to acheive outstanding results like you have. Fantastic job!
