i checked the rspb bird idetifier and it came up as a golden eagle.

The depth of the beak and the short tail still suggest White-tailed Sea Eagle to me. I should have said what a cracking photo it is by the way - there's a real menace in that stare which is captured really well. You could just imagine a poor unsuspecting hare or fawn being the victim of that thing.

What a crackin shot! It is a WT eagle (sea eagle) that enormous beak and lack of tail - makes them look top heavy - like it should plunge to earth with its beak stuck in the ground! Goldies are all in beautiful proportion in comparison - but these are magnificent - I'm not jealous - much!
