I love Hornets... they are so beautiful. Your photos have captured that... the depth of their colour. When one is flying around my mum's oak tree, it is usually the sun glinting off their bodies (reminds me of motorbike farings (sp?) ) that catches my eye in the first place.



First time I saw one, I was terrified... I killed it. Then I researched them... and felt awful. I now know they are gentle giants... and I love them. I can't summon the same affection for wasps though!
