I was so lucky, this was the only shot I managed to take so I'm really pleased that it was a good one! The Fritillary was going up and down the same small area, but every time it came close to settling, it got chased off by a Ringlet. When it did finally settle after a few minutes, it landed for just a few seconds on just about the best bit of vegetation for me to get a shot of it!



Not only that, when I saw one for the first time a couple of days earlier, I only got a few shots of the top of the wings. So this shot was exactly the one I wanted to get! It couldn't have worked out better.
