Lovely detail esp the eyes . Looks good larger too.

When I take these the eye is often slightly unsharp although in theory I was focussed on the eye and should have had enough depth of focus.Is this because the eyes move more than we think ??

The way the compound eye of a Dragon or Damselfly is made up often leads it to look out of focus when it is not, especially as the patterns/colours within the eyes are quite random in their arrangement, Large reds have those horizontal lines across the eye that help to give more clarity to the focus when viewing the image.

This was taken using a setting of f8 @ 1/500th sec at 400 ISO, which is more than enough D.O.F to get the whole insect pin sharp.
