John, nice shot, I guess you used centre spot focus and a fairly wide aperture?? I hope you don't mind my saying but this is like a lot of shots I have taken, and I call them "nearly" shots. I may be wrong in your instance, but in mine I have to remember to use something smaller than f5.6, and if I can, use the focus point nearest to the eye as opposed to the central point. What do you reckon? Jon

Hi Jon, I know what you’re saying as I’ve had many shots like that and as you say stopping down to something smaller can make all the difference.
But on this occasion I think it’s my jpeg processing which makes it look soft. I’ve just printed the shot of at A4 size and it’s very sharp. If you look at this link,

You can see the shot is very sharp. I’ll have to make sure my image processing is better before posting
