the reason is its a water marker with readings running down it very distracting i think hope that answers your question and many thanks to you and Colin for kind comments and viewing.

nice shot Don. Just spent a freezing morning at a new Kingfisher site I've found, without success. Thanks for posting, it's reminded me why I've just sat on an frozen bank for the last four hours.
