wonderful!! Found my first Hornet nest this year. This is the type of image I was after, but wasn't possible. nice one.

Excellent shot - but how did you get near enough without getting stung? When I got within a meter of a nest I was warned off by a sting in the hand!

thanks, yes i did get stung 3 times on the head. I put the camera on a plank of wood and put it on a ten second timer and put it inside the tree.
