Is this really your first one? they are so common here in Notts you cant fail to see one(i counted around fifty on Monday in Clumber)on any walk, i suppose different areas of the country have a different common species,

very nice Julie. It's the wee one on the left I'm most envious of. Only ever seen one unopened, didn't know what it was, and made a right pigs ear out of photographing it. since then I've been looking for another but with no success. Well done.

Thanx Ian...Its was ideal for me to find a pair..both these species had been knocked over..the mature specimen had some slight damage to it..playful dogs im thinking..Will be keeping a look out again very soon..

ooh Julie - Satans Bolete ............ I've hoped and prayed over the years - all autumn down south hols I have set off hopeful and come back disapointed - whereas like Brian and Clumber - fly agarics are 10 a penny our way - nice pic - worth a watercolour maybe?
