This may well be a Meadow Pipit as it seems to be very white breasted for a Tree Pipet, but which ever bird it is the photo is stunning.

Cheers, you may well be correct but I did check this one with my friendly expert who, to be fair to him said, "The pipit is often a tricky one from a still 'cos you really need to see where they spend their time ie. in trees, or low down often on the ground - plus the song separates it from the very similar Meadow Pipit."
I found this one posing at the side of the road in near to New Galloway.

Your Friend is correct, but another thing which inclines me toward Meadow Pipit is there appears to be a slight grey tinge to the belly.
