We found just two males guarding one of the well known spots in Gait Barrows and spent the next three hours lurking on the path - waiting for the males to come back to more or less the same perches.....

Sorry Ron - according to the books its a southern and very much declining species - which will be why May is the only time you can actually meet people in Gait Barrows - hopefull looking folk with cameras!!

Thanks Graham - but well actually - we're going to try again as (and I know I'm being nit-pickey here) but the top wings are slightly out - they must rest in a slightly different plane to the rest of the critter...........
