Fungus Ken Commander of the Wild Empire Registered: July 2007 Posts: 1,297 ![]() |
In places this was carpeting the woodland floor in Moor Piece Nature Reserve in the Forest of Bowland last Sunday. The fungus parasitises a false truffle, which you can see in the bottom left corner of the photo, in this case Elaphomyces muricatus (separated from E. granulatus by its marbled gleba).
