An atmospheric place on the north-west slopes of The Stiperstones, Shropshire. People used to live here. Now there are only walls and the broadest Rowan Tree in Britain!

This is a superb pic - the atmosphere and invitation to walk into it is almost overpowering and the lighting is fantastic - I like it very much

Thanks PMG, it certainly is an inspiring place to visit.

This path would have been used by the inhabitants of the old village which (I think) grew up as a result of the lead mining industry in the area. The trees are the big draw here, there are so many gnarled trunks and entwined branches. There are a good half-dozen of the fattest Rowan trees in Britain here in this one place, along with the largest Holly tree in Shropshire (amongst others). No one's quite sure why there are so many fat trees here!

What I would like to do now is go there on a really stormy day and take some great B + W photos. Too much sun about though at the mo (not that I'm complaining).
