I have always thought this was a female whitethroat. But I now have doubts and would like someone to tell me what it is

Nice pic Dave. Yes I'd say female Whitethroat. The head isn't grey enough for a male, The breast also lacks the slight russet/rosey colouring of the male.

I must say your is sharper but yes I agree It goes with my original thought. I was just not sure of the head it did not seem like a whitethroat.
