No, this is a species of Clavaria, possibly C. fumosa but then atypical in that the basidiomes are distinctly laterite-pinkish in colour, or Clavaria roase, but again atypical in that the basidiomes are too large and the colour not rose-pink enough !

Thanks for your comments Nick.
I've just had a look in Roger Phillips and the picture it has of Clavaria fumosa looks very close to mine apart from, as you say, the colour not matching, although the description about being found in Autumn and in grassland would match.
