Quite a secluded spot nearest village is Ashford Carbonell from where a footpath leads past the aqueduct to the village of Little Hereford. The day I took the photo was in early May 2000 and on the banks of the River Teme numerous Orange Tip Butterflies were flying.

The the aqueduct can also be accessed from the A456 near Woofferton by flowwing at footpath from Gosford which takes you over the old Tenbury Railway and along the old embankment that took the canal towards the aqueduct.

Checking an OS map will show you much of the line of the old canal which passes through beautiful countryside. The canal itself was interd to run from Stourport to Kington but only the centre section from Marlebrook near Mamble to Leominster was completed and used.

About a mile from Marlebrook can be found the portal of an uncompleted tunnel that would have taken the canal line nearer to Stourport. To the West of Leominster near Eyton Common and Kingsland further uncompleted remnants of the canal line are still extant.
