Photographed at Lancaster 28.07.06. Lucky enough to live near a place where these rare migrants turned up. It's the first time I've seen Yellow-winged and I was not dissapointed. A very approachable darter, compared with Red-veined!

A friend has just found one in Darlington and I hear there have been quite a few turning up all over the country. I guess this is year to find one on ones local patch or at least give it a good go.

thanks for the comments. The pics are downsized greatly and some quality has been lost on post to WAB but before I took them, I'd have settled for pics like this, if you know what I mean
