This is interesting. In Lancashire you get these constructions all over the hills. Many of them were used for narrow gauge railways transporting stone from the quarries.



I wonder if this was once a railway for the quarry in the distance, or perhaps just a road for pony and trap, it looks wider than the ones in Lancs.

It is an old railway line which was used to transport granite from the nearby quarry. You can see what i believe are the spoil heaps in the distance
