Not a great image unfortunately but as i have had it identified as Volucella zonaria (in a thread i posted on WAB) and apparently a rare species in Britain, i thought it might be worth uploading?



These very large and impessive Hornet mimicks are very large, i must admit..it made me flinch when i saw/heard it buzzing around me.. Also I was told within my thread that sightings are recorded as, interestingly they are thought to be indicators of climate change?
