Good to see that you like the south and don't spend all your time in the north. The north takes some beating but the south does have some great areas and wildlife which is different.

You are absolutely right Richard. My two favourite places in the world are the Islands and western Highlands of Scotland and the Pennines (though Norway was pretty special!), but just lately, after an absence of many years, I've been going down South again and am really enjoying it. I think the south-west suits my circumstances better now, what with having two young kids. The beaches and rock-pools are superb and the weather is usually better than Skye or Mull!
