This is the mountain hut that I was warden for 10 years and belongs to the Fell & Rock Cliimbing Club Of the English Lakes. It is named Beetham Cootage after one of our early members Bently Beethem who was a member of the 1924 Everest expedition when Mallory and Irvine went missing. He was also the first Brit to climb the highest mountain in North Africa, Mount Toubkal, 13750ft, which I climbed in 1990.
