The commonest shells seen along the south coast but were unknown until the late 19th century. Here they are attached to a Razor Shell - Ensis arcuatus.

I had to come back to this, it reminds me of a sculpture i have seen somewhere, i am sure it was an image in WAB Gallery?

I would love to come across this, i will be keeping a better eye out in the future!

Thanks for the great response. Best place to find them is on Studland nearer to the ferry end especially after some rough seas. They tend to wash up on the beach at various points.
