I saw some of these today (having been inspired to look for them by your photograph). Their movement seems to defy the laws of physics. How on earth you got this lovely shot - I don't know.

Thanks Pauline and Dave - it was a case of stalking and waiting, again and again, stood over a small shallow pond so they had to be near me, until they got used to me - and waiting til they were in my shadow to cut down glare and then they do pause, I assume when feeding on a mossie larva or some such!
