OH MY WORD!! It is too! This has been at the top of my wish list for around 15 years if not more ... the amount of time I have spent looking at patches of thyme - esp out in the isles - just hoping to see this growing out of it .... and this one is on prime condition ... where's me coat - where's me camera .... see you soon Mike!!!!!!

Thanks for your comments folks. Yes, there's something about Broomrapes - but it helps considerably if you know that's what it is when you are taking the photo.

It was only when I got the photos onto the computer at home, and with the help of my books, that I discovered what this was, that it is something of a national scarcity, and certainly not what might be expected to be found in the depths of east Lancashire.

Just goes to show - you never know what's out there until you find it!
