Just as the last finger tips of light held onto the barn sides she came out, fluffed herself up and then was away

Thanks Sweedie, I like the natural frame of the window of old corrugated iron and the wood with the ages of talon marks pitted into it.

Appreciate your comments.

"Just as the last finger tips of light held onto the barn sides she came out, fluffed herself up and then was away"

Pure poetry - adding to a great image. That's one of the best images I've ever seen on WAB, well done. I love the way you haven't cropped out the iron sides that add to the colour harmony of the picture. You've a good eye.

It appears to be a non-ringed bird - get it reported.

Many thanks for such comments.. it is nice to see that others notice the surroundings as well, what better way to show a Barn Owl other than in a Barn and a rusty old one at that sitting on carved stone mushrooms, do not know what they call them but they stop the vermin from getting in.

As for ringing alot of the Owls on Foulness are not ringed, but it is being slowly done I believe.

Again many thanks Woodman truly appreciated.

They are called saddlestones. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Staddle_stones for more details.
